I have been inexplicably pulled to Italy since my childhood; I’d lose myself in reverie imagining the small Italian village where Pinocchio lived, its red rooftops, wooden shutters and narrow lanes. When I visited Italy on a school trip at the age of 13, something just clicked. I knew with deep conviction that Italy had to be part of my life from that point on. And it was. I traveled to Italy every year and lived there for long periods of time whenever I could think up any excuse to do so.

It's no surprise that Italy has such a strong presence in my international collection.
