Anyone who knows me personally is well aware of my affinity for vivid colors. My corner in our office space is an explosion of hues - with colored knick-knacks and doodads, post-its of every shade, and dozens of overlapping pictures and postcards pinned to a blue billboard. Not a single wall in my home is painted white, and I think I own only four white dishes in total. That I write and print on white paper probably has more to do with professionalism than personal choice! My love for colors has been a part of me for as long as I can remember. I "feel" them, assign them and simply need them around me. Who knows, it might very well have to do with a quirky condition rooted in my brain – synesthesia – which leads colors and some senses to be irrevocably intertwined. My world is colored, in more ways than one, and I am always drawn to vibrant shades, like a bug to a light.
When I first began experimenting with photography, it didn't take long for colors to capture my attention – particularly in instances where the scene itself depicted something quite ordinary. The uniqueness and intensity of colors, but especially the contrasts and mood they intrinsically create, make them instantly "feelable"…and that feeling becomes memorable.

You may realize over time that I have some favorites on my palette – some particular shades of blue, green, red or yellow that you may come to recognize – the usual suspects that make me reach for my lens.
If you are like me, then color not only incites a sense of wonder and draws you in, but also genuinely impacts your mood and the balance of your feelings. My hope is that, if you hang one of these pieces on your wall, the poignant colors continuously catch your eye in your own home.
